Forty years ago, regulations for manufacturing, packaging, and selling dangerous goods were minimal, often leading to unsafe practices like labeling wine bottles with "TURPS." In response to increasing regulatory standards, TMK Packers Ltd was founded in 1979 to offer compliant, safe, and competitively priced wholesale chemical and solvent products. Initially, they offered just three products—Turpentine, Methylated Spirits, and Kerosene—but now provide over 40 chemicals and solvents in sizes from 250ml to 1000 litres.

With bulk chemical handling and storage facilities in Auckland, TMK Packers also offers contract packing and solvent blending services. They began by supplying a small order of Methylated Spirits to Tingeys in Newmarket over 30 years ago and now serve over 2000 customers, including supermarkets, hardware stores, print supply groups, and industrial businesses throughout New Zealand.
